The Rolex Daytona has been manufactured by Rolex since 1963, and the name refers to Daytona, Florida, where motorsport was flourishing in the 20th century. The Daytona became infamous as it was worn by Paul Newman consistently, as he pursued his racing career. The 116509 model features an oyster bracelet made from 18 carat white gold. The bezel features the tachymetric scale, and is also finished in 18 carat white gold.

This model is complete with a bright blue dial displaying lapsed time, and 18 carat gold hour markers and hands, and is also available with the following dials: Steel and Black, Meteorite, and Black set with Diamonds.
